EMERGENCY HAZARDOUS AREA LIGHTING

Hazardous area lighting is a critical component of ensuring safety in high-risk environments throughout Australia. These specialised lighting solutions are designed for use in harsh industrial environments.

Emergency lights for hazardous areas like all hazardous lighting products, need to be built to stringent standards. They should be engineered to minimise the risk of ignition, while also providing reliable illumination in classified zones. This is what we offer at EX Engineering.

With advanced technologies, these lighting products offer durable protection against harsh conditions. They are suitable for a wide range of industries, including hydrogen, agriculture, oil and gas, chemical plants, mining, and refineries. Hazardous area lighting plays a vital role in maintaining safety, visibility, and compliance in these demanding environments.

Hazardous LED Lighting - Linear Luminaire with LED EXLUX Series

HAZARDOUS LED LIGHTING

LED lights allow for compact designs, energy efficiency, reliability, and a long service life – integral aspects of prioritising health, safety, and environmental responsibility in the workplace.

Save energy, reduce maintenance costs and benefit from a long-life lighting solution with maintenance-free, hazardous area LED lighting. LEDs are particularly well-suited for Zone 1 and Zone 2 hazardous areas due to their enhanced safety features, reducing the risk of ignition in potentially explosive atmospheres.

In addition, LEDs are a safer, environmentally friendly hazardous area lighting option as they are free from mercury.

An LED light is nearly ten times more efficient than a normal light. Also, LED luminaires save energy while providing instant light. This makes LED a popular technology for hazardous area floodlights and explosion proof lighting solutions.

LED is the preferred lighting option for hazardous areas with extreme temperatures as it copes with high vibration resistance and is well suited to use in harsh industrial environments.

ZONE 1 AND ZONE 2 LIGHTING

In the realm of hazardous area lighting, the distinction between Zone 1 and Zone 2 is paramount. At EX Engineering, we provide safety and efficiency with our Zone 1 and Zone 2 lighting solutions. Our IECEx-certified LED lights and fixtures are engineered to shine brightly, ensuring steadfast reliability in the most demanding conditions. LEDs are particularly well-suited for Zone 1 and Zone 2 hazardous areas due to their enhanced safety features, reducing the risk of ignition in potentially explosive atmospheres.

Quality Assurance

We have a structured Quality Assurance (QA) system, which allows us to pay more attention than is required.

Depending on how critical the shipment is, we assign a QA level that determines whether the product is checked by one person, two people, or the engineering team – so the QA is always tailored to suit.

Our process involves two different check levels that ensure:

  • Overall compliance
  • The product is fit for purpose
